Found out about this disc by clicking through some post-hardcore playlist on Youtube, I think. Great track.

GUILE (U.S.A.)
Artist: Yoko Shimomura, Isao Abe
Album: STREET FIGHTER II Collector’s BOX (Disc 1: STREET FIGHTER II PERFECT ORIGINAL VERSION)

Notes: Honestly, I don’t think I need to comment on this one.

STAFF ROLL
Artist: Yoko Shimomura, Isao Abe
Album: STREET FIGHTER II Collector’s BOX (Disc 1: STREET FIGHTER II PERFECT ORIGINAL VERSION)

Notes: I love it when the credits theme sounds like a celebration. It’s kind of like a”YOU DID IT! YOU’RE THE BEST! NOW YOU CAN FINALLY REST!” sort of thing, and it’s just so very uplifting.

I personally like the SNES version even more, but this one is fantastic as well.

In Spite of One’s Age (Master Team)
Artist: Hideki Asanaka, Tate Norio, Marimo
Album: The King of Fighters ‘98 Original Sound Trax

Notes: Far less electric than most tracks in the game (though not completely absent, for sure), I find the acoustic strumming something to get me thinking and reflecting on my own life, even though I’m certainly not old enough to be on the ‘Old Men’ Team. Yeah, I’m certainly one to dwell on things. It probably goes without saying at this point that this is my favourite song in KoF 98.
