GUILE (U.S.A.)
Artist: Yoko Shimomura, Isao Abe
Album: STREET FIGHTER II Collector’s BOX (Disc 1: STREET FIGHTER II PERFECT ORIGINAL VERSION)

Notes: Honestly, I don’t think I need to comment on this one.

STAFF ROLL
Artist: Yoko Shimomura, Isao Abe
Album: STREET FIGHTER II Collector’s BOX (Disc 1: STREET FIGHTER II PERFECT ORIGINAL VERSION)

Notes: I love it when the credits theme sounds like a celebration. It’s kind of like a”YOU DID IT! YOU’RE THE BEST! NOW YOU CAN FINALLY REST!” sort of thing, and it’s just so very uplifting.

I personally like the SNES version even more, but this one is fantastic as well.

kazucrash:

In Spite of One’s Age (Master Team)
Artist: Hideki Asanaka, Tate Norio, Marimo
Album: The King of Fighters ‘98 Original Sound Trax

Notes: Far less electric than most tracks in the game (though not completely absent, for sure), I find the acoustic strumming something to get me thinking and reflecting on my own life, even though I’m certainly not old enough to be on the ‘Old Men’ Team. Yeah, I’m certainly one to dwell on things. It probably goes without saying at this point that this is my favourite song in KoF 98.

Street Fighter IV - Volcanic Rim (orchestral arrangement)

Zico Chain - Our Evil

Don’t let these children make a sound
Don’t let these children make a sound
Our evil
Watch us break this
Looks like we’re all going down.

This institution holds no ground
This institution drags us down
Our evil.
No complacence
Our bricks and guns tell you now

And as we take to the streets
One voice shout no

What just changed?
Blood stained and love turned to hate
Generations
One voice shout no no no.
Who’s to blame?
When sticks and stones go to waste
Silent nation
One voice shout “no”.

Don’t let this system break us down
Don’t let this system fail us now
Our evil
We’re all just numbers
Let’s fight with fire in this town.

And watch it burn to the ground
One voice said no no no.

Don’t let this system fail us
One voice is screaming inside us
This institution breaks us down
One voice shout
Don’t let this system fail us
Our children living in violence
This institution breaks us down
One voice shout.

Much The Same - Stitches (live)

A violent scream is better than the whisper of sweet nothings…
It holds us together, and I’ll never understand
Why we don’t let the flame burn the fan
No I’ll never understand, why we don’t let the flames burn the fan

Kindness is where we fail (is where we fail…)
Don’t understand why we’re happy to be (content to be!)
In discontent this life is not well spent
Is it better to suffer than to be alone?

So hide your heart and close your mind
And put the key in a dark place that I can’t find and don’t forget to lie
‘Cause we would rather leave the truth behind
No don’t forget to lie
‘Cause we would rather leave the truth behind

Kindness is where we fail (is where we fail…)
Don’t understand why we’re happy to be (content to be!)
In discontent this life is not well spent
Is it better to suffer than to be alone?

Kindness is where we fail
Don’t understand why we’re happy to be
In discontent this life is not well spent
Is it better to suffer…

If I treated you like dirt would you stick to me like mud?
Why is this your idea of love?
And I can’t be clean we’re coming apart at the seams
Stitches can’t fix everything
